We welcome you to come and stay at our beautifully
furnished two bedroom home located on the "banks of the
Grand River" in Austinburg, Ohio. This quiet, peaceful
relaxed setting promises to give the "getaway" that you are
looking for.
Take a short walk to the Mechanicsville Covered Bridge,
one of the counties oldest covered bridges dating back
to the mid 1800's and get aquainted with a little local history.
Another great stop just around the corner is the Cold Springs
Apple Orchard. Stop in to see Lynn or Don for homemade
apple pies, cider, Amish jellies, apples picked fresh daily and much more!
Don't forget that you're just a couple of miles away from some the Grand River
Valley's award winning wineries such as Ferrante Winery , Laurello Vineyards,
DeBonne Vineyards, Harpersfield Winery, Virant Family Winery and
Farinacci Winery just to name a few! Spend the day or evening sampling some of Ohio's finest wines while listening to some great music.
Historic Geneva-on-the-Lake is a must see for anyone visiting our area. Ohio's first resort, it's only a 10 minute ride from our place. Summer fun, beaches, restaurants and more wineries await you there! Check out Eddies Grill on "the strip" for a little 1950"s nostalgia. Try their root beer and foot long hot dogs! They're the best! While you're there, try your hand at Fascination. A real throw back to the 50"s and what fun it is! Cross the street and stop in to see Pat at the Sandy Chanty, the home of "Lobster Lasagne". Ask Pat to turn on the old "shooting gallery". It's a must to see. One of the 5 remaining oldest shooting galleries in the US today. It's a Coney Island original. The Firehouse Winery is a wonderful way to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening listening to some of our great local musicians like Don Perry who is nicknamed "the saxman". It's fun to listen to him as he walks through the audience playing smooth jazz while you're sipping good wine! While you're at the Firehouse, don't forget to take a ride on the Old Ferris Wheel which is open throughout the summer. Another good place to visit is Mar G's Restaurant which hosts a "blues jam" every other Thursday all year long. You'll find great food too at Mar G's Restaurant on Golf Street right off the strip. Geneva-on-the-Lake is one of my favorite places to go for good old fashioned summer fun.
If covered bridges are your thing, we have 16 of them. Several are just a short ride away. Take a leisurely ride through our beautiful countryside with a map of Ashtabula at your side. Harpersfield, Doyle, Mechanicsville, Netcher and Giddings are just a few of our spectacular covered bridges, most dating back to before any of us can remember! Visit the website at www.coveredbridgefestival.org for a complete tour of these magnificent bridges of the past!
With the lake to the north, covered bridges to the south, wineries both to the east and west and Grand River Getaway in the middle, you can't go wrong with a visit to Austinburg. Whether it's summer, winter, spring or fall, we have something for you anytime of the year.
